Exon specializes in the production of grippers with ultralight suction cups using carbon technology.
Thanks to our technologies, weights and inertias are reduced, thus allowing you to maximize the performance of your robot.
Carbon, thanks to its mechanical and physical characteristics, allows great strength and rigidity to the components. Characteristics comparable to steel with a fifth of the weight.
Another great feature of carbon is that it does not have plastic deformation.
The tools made of carbon, in the event of an impact, will not undergo permanent deformation. This represents a huge advantage: either the component remains intact and functional or the component will break. Our tools act as a mechanical fuse. Obviously, we must think that where the carbon yields, the steel would be deformed so we must not think of it as weak because it breaks, indeed we must take advantage of this feature to our advantage.
There will be no situations in which, following an impact, the cell is started with the gripper slightly deformed, risking further costs and damage.
During the definition of the tool we use simulation software: we virtually assemble the tool on the robot, simulate in 3D the environment and the movements that the robot will perform.
Thanks to these simulations we will be able to be sure of realizing a product with dimensions, geometries, TCP (Tool Center Point) and weights suitable for the characteristics of the robot.
